75 % FORASTERO COCOA - BRAZIL
Åkesson’s Brazil – The Taste of Bahia
🌿 Deep in the Mata Atlântica, a cocoa with history thrives. The Fazenda Sempre Firme in Bahia, Brazil, is a 120-hectare plantation nestled in the world’s most biodiverse rainforest. Since 2009, Bertil Åkesson and his partner Dr. Angelo Calmon de Sá have cultivated cocoa sustainably, building a strong community. The locals lovingly call this special place Paraiso – paradise.
🍫 A Cocoa with Character & Depth
On this historic plantation, the rare Forastero cocoa variety "Parasinho" flourishes, a bean that brought Bahia global fame in the early 20th century. The chocolate made from these beans is smooth, woody, and earthy – with expressive notes of autumn aromas, tobacco, and the exotic Pitanga fruit.
