Guadalcanal is one of the largest and most fertile islands in the Solomon Islands archipelago, nestled in the heart of the South Pacific. Along its lush north coast near the capital Honiara, cocoa farmer Diana grows her beans surrounded by tropical vegetation and cooled by ocean breezes. When harvests are smaller than expected, she can count on the close-knit network of neighbouring farmers who step in to help – a spirit of collaboration that defines this unique origin.

The terroir is exceptional: a humid tropical climate with abundant rainfall, rich volcanic soils, and a steady maritime influence. These natural conditions allow the cocoa trees to grow slowly and steadily, concentrating their aromas. Traditional post-harvest practices such as careful fermentation and sun-drying enhance the complexity of the beans.
