In the heart of this remote island, reachable only by a single track, a small cocoa-farming village produces one of the rarest cacaos in the world. The quantities grown are so limited they barely register on global production scales – making Malekula cocoa a true hidden gem.


Malekula offers ideal natural conditions for growing fine cacao: a consistently warm and humid tropical climate, frequent rainfall, and rich volcanic soils that are porous, fertile, and well-drained. Combined with fresh ocean air and a forested environment, these elements form a unique terroir that nurtures exceptionally flavorful beans.
